Dan attended Arizona State University and received his B.A. in Spanish in 1985. He received his J.D. from the University of Arizona in 1990. He entered active duty as a JAG Officer in 1990 and was assigned to Sierra Army Depot, CA. He came to Fort Huachuca in 1992 where he was an instructor for the Military Intelligence School, Chief of the Claims Division, and Chief of Military Justice. In 1996 he left active duty, but stayed active in the Army Reserves until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2013. Dan is a long time Fort Huachuca/Sierra Vista resident and since 1996 he has worked in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate as the environmental attorney. In this capacity he has frequent interaction with local community leaders regarding water and endangered species issues. Dan is active in the local community and is a Young Men’s leader for a church youth group and is currently a board member and Treasurer for the La Terraza Homeowner’s Association. Dan is married to Carol and they have 4 children. Carol is a long time music teacher and is currently substitute teaching in the Sierra Vista United School District. Dan enjoys tennis, running, travel, and playing piano.
